To date Coachford Cycling Club have taken part, either as individuals or groups, in 8 separate Races around Cork County, Limerick and Waterford.
The first was in Tralee for the Lacey Cup on Feb 26th which was close on 80km. Mick Martin and Mark McCarthy started off the racing bug on that day.
The second was a 3 x 20km racing circuit in Broadford, Co.Limerick on March 4th, Rás Luimní. Mick and Mark also took part on this day.
Rás Luimní closely followed on March 11th by a 3 x 20 km circuit. This race saw three Coachford Cyclists taking part, namely Mick, Mark and Nicola Doherty.
The fourth race was in Fermoy on April 1st again a 3 x 20km circuit. This was a day the Coachford Pink Jerseys were in plentiful supply! Mick, Mark, Nicola, Matthew Niesan and the young Luke O’Sullivan all featured.
Race number 5 was on April 15th in Carrick on Suir. This was the familiar 3 x 20km circuit once again. Participants on this day were Mick, Matthew and Nicola.
The 6th race was a solo effort from Mick who completed the DMG Classic a 50km race on April 22nd.
April 29th was again a sea of pink in Currow, by Farrenfore. Coachford Cycling Club members present were Mick, Mark, Matthew, Billy Healy and Luke. Luke received a placing and a trophy for his superb effort in the u-13 section.
Mick and Luke participated in the Corkman 3-Dayrun by O’Learys Stone Kanturk Cycling Club over the May bank holiday weekend. A gallant effort was produced by both club members in their respective categories.
Our 9th race was organised by St. Finbarrs Cycling Club in Whitechurch. The 55km circuit was tackled by Mick, Mark, Matthew, Billy and Luke.
